Atom String Quartet is one of the most intriguing string quartets in the world and one of the best Polish jazz bands. The group combines the capabilities of a string quartet (i.e. two violins, viola and cello) with jazz improvisation.

In its repertoire the quartet constantly blazes new paths, looking for their own sound and formal solutions that escape any classification. Its musical output, besides jazz, shows sources of inspiration coming from Polish folk, music of various regions of the world, as well as contemporary and classical music.

They successfully meld these influences to create a truly intriguing and unique experience. Established in 2010, Atom String Quartet are Michał Zaborski (viola), Mateusz Smoczyński (violin), Krzysztof Lenczowski (cello), Dawid Lubowicz (violin)

The concert is co-financed by the Polish Minister of Culture and National Heritage from the Culture Promotion Fund – a state special purpose fund.
