Mateusz Smoczyński was again distinguished in several categories in the ranking of the Jazz Forum Magazine – Jazz Top 2018! This year the violinist came second, by a single vote, after Adam Bałdych, and with Atom String Quartet they again took the second position among acoustic bands.
The readers of the Jazz Forum Magazine also appreciated “Polish Concertos” in NOSPR as one of the major events of the year, within which there were side events like a premiere of Mateusz Smoczyński’s violin concerto “Adam’s Apple”.
P.S. Krzysztof Lenczowski of Atom String Quartet took the 1st place on various instruments, and Michał Miśkiewicz, who plays in Mateusz’s quintet, among others, once more became the drummer of the year! Congratulations to you all!
